I recently found this lacey dress in a local charity shop and immediately started thinking of ways to style it up for the season. Turns out, this dress pretty much goes with everything! Okay, so not over jeans (RIP that 90’s fashion trend) but I’ve found it can be layered up with jackets, it goes with flats or heels and would look as much at home on a beach as it would in a club.
To coin Lucy Seigle’s preach of ‘more wear per dress’ this item for me really encapsulates what sustainable fashion is all about. Pre-loved, quality pieces that rise above the faddy trends to stand the test of time.
So, from day to night, here’s how I’m styling up my latest second-hand find:
The addition of a simple denim jacket, some sun glasses and sandals means this dress is ready to see us through our Indian summer days*. Add some wedges for more casual pub look.
Swap the denim for leather and add a statement necklace and some black tights and you’re dinner-drinks-drunk set!
(Moody pout optional when wearing leather.)
Thinking of ways you can get more wear out of your dresses? Right now it’s actually Collectively’s #FashionTakeBack week which means you can have a good old snoop at the companies and people that are shaking up the world of fashion simply by using the hashtag. Ahhhh modern life.
How do you style up your thrifty finds?
